Palm Lake Urban Sanctuary (PL+US) and Palm Lake Urban Gardens (PL+UG) are two sustainable developments on a single parcel in St. Petersburg, FL. Both projects are affordable housing with PL+US being a 3-story concrete block and plank building of 73,000 SF with 72 market apartments and common spaces. PL+UG is a 7 Casita project with 14 family units totaling 7200 SF, each 1-story surrounded by working gardens. The project is centered around an existing church, school and main street that where regular markets are held selling products produced in the gardens. The project is the first sustainable development in the state of Florida to be approved using House bill 1339 for affordable housing.
