Looking Ahead: Pi Partners Laud Innovations, Trends, Opportunities in 2022

We asked some of our Pi partners and friends to share their thoughts about what they’re looking forward to in 2022. Judging by their responses, it’s going to be an exciting year filled with many opportunities for positive change, cutting edge innovations, partnerships and collaborations, plus much more.

“We have been busy in 2021 planning some amazing projects for 2022 to include new options for our consumers. We are exploring an innovative Minka small home community adjacent to one of our campuses, and we are expanding independent living options across our portfolio to meet demand.”

- Terry Rogers, CEO, Westminster Communities of Florida

“At the end of the day, people still need senior housing, regardless of a pandemic or anything else going on in the world. We are proud to be an option for them. It is an honor for us to be able to change lives on a daily basis and live our Culture at ISL day in and day out.”

- Collette Gray, President/CEO, Integral Senior Living

“Frontier Management is enthusiastic about 2022 and beyond with its growing relationships, including Pi Architects, to create innovative and elevated environments where seniors are encouraged to continue living their best lives, team members are fans, and families feel the hospitality of our cultures. Pi helps make this vision a reality.”

- Greg Roderick, President/CEO, Frontier Management, LLC

“We think 2022 is going to be the year when we all accept new paradigms for our industry. We are excited about it and how we can solve the labor crisis together.”

- Charles Turner, CEO, Kare

"As we all emerge from one of the most challenging yet transformative years of our lives, people are embracing a new found sense of personal and professional prioritization, a heightened focus on whole-person well-being and a desire for an improved sense of community and connection. I'm excited to see how technology as well as space, experience and brand re-design is elevated to meet evolving consumer needs."

- Sarah Thomas, CEO, MezTal

“I’m looking forward to a new year with new possibilities! These include ideas ranging from EverSafe 360 initiatives and strategic and master planning for optimizing existing communities to leveraging market fundamentals to position and execute satellite campuses. It will be exciting to strategize with senior living community leadership about the many ways to help existing communities chart their path forward, whether that involves recovery or expanding their mission.”

- Jason Jorgenson, SVP Managing Director-Development, LCS Development

"We, Team Good People, have united to form an amazing network of senior housing executives and strategic partners working together to promote the evolution of senior living. More than ever, relationships, connections, collaborations, and partnerships will be essential to the success of the senior living industry and the quality of life for residents in the new year. We will continue to connect experienced, knowledgeable strategic partners with quality organizations to build relationships that result in long-term partnerships. We are excited for 2022 to bring us together in Scottsdale in February and Ouray in June! Go Team Good People 2022!!"

- Kane Marschall, President, Good People

“Communities are beginning to evolve their sales processes to fit the needs of prospects in 2022. Due to the pandemic, our prospects have never been more tech-savvy with online shopping experiences in nearly every facet of their lives (groceries, transportation, etc.). Last year's AARP study is a great read. Prospects want personalized digital experiences that align the community's value proposition with their own interests and lifestyle before they agree to tour a community! And in the case of expansions or blue-sky communities, they want solid expectations of what to expect. Therefore, it will be important to beef up your 3D visualization budget to properly showcase the vision of what's to come.”

- Hoyle Koontz, Partner, The Vectre

“All of us at Pi are excited about 2022 and the opportunities that a new year brings. We know there are challenges with construction and land costs, but we are working hard with our clients to maximize project efficiency and manage costs without sacrificing quality or aesthetics. We keep our finger on the pulse of issues impacting senior living operators. Toward that end, we are working on innovative ways to optimize staffing and design communities where staff love to work and feel valued.  We are looking ahead with optimism and vision, and we welcome yet another year where we can help make a positive difference in the lives of our older Americans.”

- Greg Hunteman, President & Mark Warrick, Vice President, Pi Architects

Pi looks forward to working together with many partners, collaborators, and colleagues to make 2022 a year that takes senior living to new levels of comfort, quality, beauty, elegance, and convenience.
